Chuck Hagedorn: Lower Back Pain

For more than five years, Chuck had received pain management injections for low back from Dr. Marc Orlando, M.D., the Medical Director for Pain Management and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Mayfield Spine Surgery Center. Both he and his wife had been coming to the Center for pain management, and were pleased with the care they received. As his pain steadily increased in 2019 and 2020, both he and his doctor knew further treatment might be required. 

An MRI showed significant impingement (what most people know as a pinched nerve), and surgery was recommended. 

“I went with Dr. Curt because he is known to be one of the best,” said Chuck. 

Dr. Bradford Curt, M.D., performed Chuck’s spinal surgery in January of 2021. Chuck credits the people at Mayfield for helping him feel comfortable and confident throughout his experience. “Everyone has taken excellent care of us. It’s a great facility. I really like the people.” 

For Chuck, it took about a month for the swelling to decrease and for his pain to be relieved. 

Today, Chuck is doing things he hasn’t done in two years. “I feel like new. I can get out and walk or mow the grass.” 

“I would do it all over again. I would recommend Mayfield to anyone.”
